Humidor Quality and Materials

Wood Humidors are some of the best quality humidors. Wood Humidors are dried with 6% moisture. Humidors are best when made of Hardwood. Look for nicks, cuts and scratches and avoid those with such damage. Do not take materials or humidors that can be subject to such damage. Take a humidor that has no cracks, cuts and scratches. Let the humidors be smooth on the outside.

Metals are best suited for travel as metals are protective of both the cigarettes and the boxes. The lining and interiors can be Spanish cedar of Mahogany. Spanish cedar is a little softer than your closet cedars.

Humidity of Humidors

Buy one that is big enough to hold all your cigars and buy humidors with dividers, if you have different types of cigars. The lid should also tightly close for a strong sealing of the humidor. Most of the humidors have special humidification devices that are either analog or digital in displaying the humidity level inside the humidor boxes. Large humidors maintain perfect humidity of around 70% with electronic humidifiers.

Along with buying, if you maintain humidors perfectly, you can protect cigarettes for the longest possible time.
